It may not be the first film that pops into your head when you think British gangster movies, but Peter Greenaway's THE COOK, THE THIEF, HIS WIFE, AND HER LOVER is one of the most memorable movies I've ever seen with a gangster at the heart of its story. It's a film that played the art house circuit of course, and it's not a crime genre movie by any stretch, and yet.......
